Patrick Swayze to dance no more?

I don’t know about you, but my first love affair with a movie and a character was Johnny Castle in Dirty Dancing. Never mind that I was pre-pubescent and that Swayze was playing a character that was several years his junior, I was smitten. I watched the movie repeatedly, listened to the soundtrack on repeat, tried to teach myself to dance with a copy of Dirty Dancing: How to Do It that was found at a local garage sale, and occasionally attempted the infamous “lift” with my father.
Thus, it was with great sadness that discovered the above linked headline. It seems that Swayze has been suffering from pancreatic cancer that has spread through his body and that he may have as few as five weeks to live. The story seems to be spreading like wildfire. I have yet to see a rebuttal from Swayze, though the Sun-Times does quote a Perez Hilton informant that states that, “if he is gravely ill, he is hiding it very well.”And I was really looking forward to Road House 3: Dalton’s Revenge.
UPDATE: The Swayze camp has responded. They have confirmed that he does, indeed, have pancreatic cancer but deny that he is at death’s door. Let the straight to video sequels continue!
