22 year old defense contractor under investigation for fraud

House to investigate defense contract to firm that shipped Chinese-made ammo to Afghanistan

Apparently, when it comes to hiring defense contractors, our government does, indeed, look beyond the resumes of the current administration. Efraim E. Diveroli, a young Miami man (he’s currently 22, he was 19 when all this crap started) succeeded in starting up his own business and was hired by the United States government to supply ammunition to Afghanistan on a $300 million contract. This would be a wee bit loony if it stopped there. But no, there’s more. Diveroli was shipping decomposing ammunition that was as much as 40 years old, much of it from the old Communist bloc. Much of the ammunition had to be discarded by the military as it was too old and defective. The company was also shipping Chinese-made ammunition, a violation of U.S. law and its contract. Needless to say, he’s in a wee bit of trouble right now.

Don’t stories like this make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? This really is the American dream, right?
