McCain’s trumpets vet status while avoiding veteran issues

McCain Declares He’s ‘Obviously Committed’ To ‘Quality Education’ For GIs, But Still AWOL On GI Bill

It’s very obvious that John McCain will be using his status as a Vietnam veteran as a major element in his run for the presidency. But what is McCain actually doing to help veterans? The non-profit IAVA (of which I am a supporter) has been hammering at the senator to sign onto Jim Webb’s legislation to institute a new GI bill that will cover educational expenses much like they were for WW2 vets. While Clinton and Obama have both signed on as co-sponsors to this bill, McCain has not.

So, what’s the deal senator? You say we should support the troops. What are you doing in that regard?
