Law & Order: CI – Chris Noth is out, The Fly is in

Published by Jessica under Entertainment,Television

I’m trouble believing that this is actually happening. Jeff Goldblum is joining Criminal Intent? I’m a little bummed that he can’t be Noth’s partner, rather than his replacement since the other half of that half of CI is a wee on the shaky side. So, is going to be all weird eccentric like Goren? That would be kinda cool, except that I don’t think Goldblum could sell it nearly as well as D’Onofrio does.

Jeff Goldblum will be joining “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” while Chris Noth _ Mr. Big in the “Sex and the City” TV show and movie _ is leaving after three seasons, a series spokeswoman said Thursday.

Yeah, that’s just weird.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie donate $1 million to Iraq kids

Published by Jessica under Entertainment,Politics

I love news like this. I’m sure it’s a drop in the bucket, but every time the Hollywood super couple does something like this, it brings a very important issue to the minds of people that might not have otherwise thought of it. In the case: what’s happening to the children of the country that we’ve totally screwed up in the past five years.

Actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have donated $1 million for educational aid to children impacted by the Iraq war in that country and in the United States, a charitable organization said on Wednesday.

Pizza for the troops

Published by Jessica under Chicago

As a Chicagoan that has the luxury of getting deep dish pizza delivered to my door until 5am in the morning, I support this effort resoundingly. :)

No, seriously. This is cool. I sent out care packages to soldiers a few years back and the notes of thanks I got were so appreciative. Things like this matter a lot. We forget how many things that they can’t get there that we take for granted. Who doesn’t love a big pile of cheese, right?

Retired Air Force Sgt. Mark Evans wanted to send a taste of Chicago to troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.

So he’s doing it deep-dish pizza-style.

Nicole Richie to guest star on Chuck

Published by Jessica under Entertainment,Television

This news kinda makes me want to vomit in my mouth a little, but then I remember that Paris Hilton wasn’t half bad playing a manipulative and vapid rich girl in one of the first episodes of Veronica Mars. Sometimes typecasting works best for everyone involved, lets hope Chuck takes that cue from Mars. Kristin’s post does describe the character she’ll play as “snarky” and “spiteful,” so I’m hopeful (though emaciated does not seem to be amongst the descriptors).

Fellas, whip out your drool cloths, ’cause Yvonne “Strahotski” Strahovski is about to girlfight again—this time with guest star Nicole Richie.

Lucas testifies in front Congress, says Obama is a Jedi

Published by Jessica under Entertainment,Humor,Politics

Lucas stated that it was “reasonably obvious” that Obama would be a Jedi. For the first time in years, I think I may agree with George Lucas. ;P

George Lucas testified in front of the House Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet to back the Universal Service Fund.

Lucas refused to answer a question about “Who is President Bush more like: Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader?”, but insisted that Barack Obama would be a Jedi.
