Obama promised to take public financing, actually no
Keith did a good job of thoroughly debunking this last night (below), but the truth is that media folks have been misquoting Obama on this for weeks, even months. He never promised to take public funding for his campaign. He promised to discuss it with the Republican nominee so that they could work out an agreement where they would both take public funds and work to shoot down things like 527s. But McCain has been running on private funds since he became the Republican nominee and he broke public financing law in the primary.
