Snag this Deal: Extras: The Complete Series for $14.99
This seems quite timely to me, having just watched Ricky Gervais on Inside the Actors Studio Monday night. Granted, he spent most of the time talking about The Office (as it should be). Extras is Gervais’s less known show (it has yet to been aped across several countries like its predecessor), but it still carries his familiar brand of humor.
Extras follows the trials of Andy Millman, an actor who begins the show working as an extra on various movie sets and manages to slog his way up to mediocrity when he gets his sitcom produced by the BBC. Andy is surrounded by a crazy cast of characters, including his totally incompetent agent who is played to perfection by Gervais writing partner Stephen Merchant. The show also takes the opportunity to feature several star cameos. There is at least one cameo in each episode, though some of them are little more UK-centric. Stars like Kate Winslet, Patrick Stewart, Orlando Bloom, Daniel Radcliffe and Clive Owen drop by the show to have a good time poking fun at themselves. It’s quite a good time.
For today only, Amazon is offering Extras: The Complete Series for $14.99 – that includes both seasons, as well the 90 minute feature finale. That’s 7.5 hours of entertainment!
