Reefer Madness stars in Heathers musical
I don’t know how many of you have seen Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical, but if you haven’t, I strongly recommend you add it to your Netflix queue now. It’s ridiculously hilarious and over-the-top and it features Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell in a vinyl bra, brandishing a whip (if that last one didn’t convince you, I just don’t know what else to tell you).
So, when I first saw the news that Heathers was going to be the latest property turned into a stage musical, I didn’t really have much of a reaction. Despite being born and raised in the 80′s, I didn’t actually see the movie until about a decade after it’s release, so I don’t really have a nostalgic link to the flick and, frankly, I think it sounds like a pretty good choice for such an adaptation.
The news that got me really excited about this project is that it’s being put together by the same crew that made Reefer Madness, including director Andy Fickman and stars Kristen Bell and Christian Campbell (Neve’s brother). That’s the kind of news that makes me want to book my trip to New York right now to see the show.
