Joss Whedon, Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion … in an online musical web series. Ladies and gentlemen, our first look at Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog:
This is just one of those awesomely awesome things that needs to be broadcast into the sky. Okay, maybe I’m reaching a little, but still, I think it’s pretty damn cool.
For fellow Joss Whedon worshipers, like myself, you’re probably already giddy as heck and gobbling up any tidbits you can about our favorite auteur’s return to television next season. But, apparently, he decided to give us a little ice cream with our cake, as well. Joss has confirmed a report that he is developing a three-part web series called Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Oh yes, that’s what I said. The titular character will be played by Neil Patrick Harris (if you don’t know why that’s fantastic news, get thee to a How I Met Your Mother boxed set, stat – or for more immediate feedback, check out this YouTube clip). In addition, he will be reuniting with his Firefly leading man, Nathan Fillion. Oh, and did I mention that it’s a musical? Yeah, color me giddy as all hell. The other casting news includes Felicia Day (she played a meek-turned-badass Slayer nugget in the final season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and can also be found in just about any commercial nowadays – I think the Cheetoh’s ad is the most recent one I’ve seen).
I shall be anxiously awaiting this one. I see not how it could be anything short of spectacular.
